The city-owned Wildpark stadium in Karlsruhe, Germany, is the home venue for the football Bundesliga team Karlsruher FC. Because of its age, it does not fully meet and comply with current requirements for a modern football stadium. After intensive analyses of several renovation and expansion plans at the current location and multiple alternative locations, the city of Karlsruhe has decided to perform a full renovation at the current location. The required services will be awarded to a consortium of a general contractor and an architect according to §3 EU Abs. 3 VOB/A.
With the signing of contracts between the City of Karlsruhe and BAM Sports GmbH on 19 November 2018, the Europe-wide awarding process for the planning and construction services for the renovation of the Wildpark stadium in Karlsruhe was completed successfully. PROPROJEKT has comprehensively supported the city-owned municipal enterprise “Fußballstadion im Wildpark” throughout the organisation and realisation of the tendering and awarding process. During the two-year process, PROPROJEKT has supported the city’s municipal enterprise in the communication with the bidders/tenderers, the coordination of dates and timelines, the development of selection and awarding criteria, evaluation of tendering documents and economic aspects of the bids, as well as the organisation of the negotiations. As a result, contracts to develop a contemporary football stadium on the site of the existing stadium within the budget passed by the city council of the City of Karlsruhe were successfully awarded.
