Major Sport Event Strategy Ukraine 2040

In recent years, the Ukrain­ian gov­ern­ment has approved a number of national strategies to pro­mote health, equal oppor­tun­it­ies and sus­tain­able devel­op­ment. The devel­op­ment of sports and sports infra­struc­ture as well as the organ­iz­a­tion of inter­na­tional major sport events play a decis­ive role in this. On the one hand, top ath­letes should be provided with optimal con­di­tions for com­pet­i­tion and train­ing, and on the other hand, the pop­u­la­tion as a whole should be motiv­ated to adopt an active and healthy life­style.

The out­come of the strategy includes host­ing con­cepts for six inter­na­tional multi-sport events and a detailed timeline with bid­ding recom­mend­a­tions for a total of 16 major sport events. Thereby, the chro­no­lo­gical order of the dif­fer­ent events is primar­ily aligned with a demand-driven and sus­tain­able infra­struc­ture devel­op­ment.
