G7 Min­is­ters’ Meet­ing on Urban Devel­op­ment 2022

In 2022, a meet­ing of the min­is­ters respons­ible for urban devel­op­ment took place for the first time in the G7 con­text. With the planned meet­ing, the German G7 Pres­id­ency sent a signal to address the grow­ing import­ance of the chal­lenges asso­ci­ated with urban devel­op­ment. As part of the G7 min­is­terial meet­ing, which took place on 13 Septem­ber 2022 in the state cap­ital Pots­dam, a com­mu­niqué on sus­tain­able urban devel­op­ment was adop­ted. The com­mu­niqué was drawn up in the first half of 2022 by del­eg­ates from the G7 member states. In a multistage par­ti­cip­a­tion pro­cess, national as well as inter­na­tional stake­hold­ers were involved. 

PRO­PRO­JEKT sup­por­ted the Fed­eral Min­istry for Hous­ing, Urban Devel­op­ment and Build­ing together with Büro Kaufmann in design­ing and con­trolling the pre­par­at­ory pro­cess, car­ry­ing out the national dia­logue formats and in design­ing the con­tent of the com­mu­niqué.
