The German Federal Government and the organised sport want to establish and develop Germany as a leading location for sustainable sport events. The National Sport Event Strategy intends to create the content and procedural framework for this. The development and implementation of the strategy has the overarching goal of specifically supporting and organising sport events with lasting positive effects for sport, society, the environment and the economy in Germany. The Federal Ministry of the Interior for the federal government on the one hand and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) for the organised sport on the other are responsible for creating the strategy. A nationally coordinated approach has been set up to develop the strategy in the course of 2020 with the participation of stakeholders from sport, politics, administration, economy and society.
PROPROJEKT in cooperation with PwC Strategy& consults the Federal Ministry of Interior and the DOSB in developing the strategic content. As part of this, a standardised process for future sports events in Germany shall be developed and centralised support services shall be identified. PROPROJEKT also helps in developing an evaluation system to continuously improve the strategy moving forward.
