ALBA BERLIN Future Campus

ALBA BERLIN, one of Ger­many’s most suc­cess­ful and largest bas­ket­ball clubs in terms of mem­ber­ship, is pur­su­ing a vision to estab­lish its own sports, recre­ation and train­ing campus in Berlin in the medium term. This ini­ti­at­ive is driven by stra­tegic con­sid­er­a­tions aimed at con­sol­id­at­ing the club’s vari­ous facil­it­ies and train­ing venues – which are cur­rently spread across the city – into a single cent­ral loc­a­tion. The aim is to create optimal con­di­tions for elite, youth and grass­roots sport through effi­cient struc­tures, whilst at the same time fur­ther devel­op­ing the suc­cess­ful ‘ALBA macht Schule’ edu­ca­tional pro­gramme in the form of an integ­rated sports and edu­ca­tion campus.

A key com­pon­ent of this “Future Campus" is the desire for a ded­ic­ated pro­fes­sional venue. A modern, state-of-the-art multi-pur­pose arena is inten­ded not only to open up new sport­ing hori­zons for ALBA BERLIN, but also to tap into addi­tional eco­nomic and social poten­tial. With this pro­ject, the club is under­lin­ing its ambi­tion to pos­i­tion itself as a flag­ship pro­ject within the dynamic European bas­ket­ball land­scape – par­tic­u­larly against the back­drop of poten­tial new inter­na­tional com­pet­i­tion formats, in the devel­op­ment of which lead­ing global play­ers are involved.
