Together with an advisory board, the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building has developed guidelines for a gender-equitable urban development policy. These guidelines for a fair, inclusive and caring city were presented at a specialist and networking event in the run-up to International Women's Day on 6 March 2025 in Berlin.
In the context of urban development, the topic of gender equality is increasingly taking centre stage. The aim is not only to discuss gender equality in public spaces, for example, but to actively implement it. The aim is to recognise, discuss and incorporate perspectives that have tended to be neglected to date.
The guidelines are available for download on the website of the National Urban Development Policy, with additional information and background information.
