On 26 November 2025, the 27th IHF Women's Handball World Championship will kick off in Stuttgart and Trier. Sixteen nations will compete in four groups in these two German preliminary round venues for a spot in the main round, which will be held from 2 December 2025 at Dortmund's Westfalenhalle. Meanwhile, four additional preliminary round groups will be played in the Netherlands. The big goal for all teams is Rotterdam, where the Final Four including the semi-finals and medal matches will take place on the weekend of December 12–14.

The DHB has commissioned PROPROJEKT to support the further development of operational tournament project management for the Women's World Championship. Besides directly optimizing processes for this tournament, the aim is also to lay the foundation for operations during the next Men's World Championship, which will also be held in Germany in early 2027. PROPROJEKT has been closely collaborating with DHB since September 2025 and will also assist the team during the tournament in Trier, Stuttgart, and Dortmund.
For the DHB, the Women's World Championship seamlessly continues the "Decade of Handball". After hosting several international championships in German arenas in recent years - such as the 2024 EHF European Men's Handball Championship - more outstanding handball events will take place in Germany, including the Men's World Championships in 2027 and 2029 (then as a co-host with France).
The regular awarding of international handball tournaments to Germany can certainly be seen as proof of the DHB's outstanding work and the first-class arenas in Germany.
