Special Olympics National Games Berlin 2022 — A Success Story

#UnbeatableTogether was the motto for the National Games of Special Olympics Germany that took place in Berlin from June 19 to 24, 2022.

Special Olympics National Games Berlin 2022 made Germany’s capital the sporting and inclusive center of the country for almost a week. Over the six days of competition more than 4,000 athletes and their Unified Partners showed how sport can pave the way for people with mental and multiple disabilities to lead an equal life and improve public awareness.

The following figures impressively demonstrate the dimension of the event:

  • 72,000 lunches and dinners served
  • 13,000 medals and placement ribbons handed out
  • 35,000 FFP2 masks distributed
  • 15km of power cables laid
  • And 900 radios used

More than 7,000 athletes in 26 sports will compete at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 from 17 to 25 June.

PROPROJEKT has been supporting the organizers of the largest multisport event in Germany since Munich 1972 from the beginning of the bid phase in 2018 with expertise, know-how and a lot of heart and soul in the fields of bid development, program management and in the main operation center during Games Time.
