With around 100,000 athletes, the International German Gymnastics Festival is the largest competitive and popular sports event in the world. For the first time, the European Gymnastics Championships were integrated into the Gymnastics Festival as a special highlight.
During the gymnastics festival, competitions in 23 sports, the gymnastics academy, hands-on activities and demonstrations attracted sports and gymnastics enthusiasts from all over the world to Leipzig. Leipzig hosted the event for the 13th time and offered a varied and interesting programme focusing on popular, competitive and health-related sports.
PROPROJEKT was commissioned to support the Organising Committee during the final six months of preparation. The tasks included compiling an overarching milestone plan, including ongoing status tracking, and creating a risk matrix. This involved continuous coordination with the relevant departments and close consultation with the leadership team.
In addition, customised readiness exercises were designed and conducted to theoretically simulate event processes and prepare the team for the event week. During the event, PROPROJEKT supported the team at the Host City Operation Center and drafted a daily event report.
