Profitability Study for a Potential New Stadium in Oldenburg
The existing football stadium in Oldenburg does not fully meet the functional and economic requirements for a modern football and event location of leagues of the German Football Bundesliga and the leagues of the German Football Association (DFB), especially in regard to security and infrastructural aspects. Based on this, the city of Oldenburg has decided to have a feasibility study done for a football stadium that meets the requirements of the Dritte Liga (Third German Football League) at the location “Maastrichter Straße”.
As part of this feasibility study, PROPROJEKT was commissioned by the city of Oldenburg to analyse the economic feasibility and profitability of a new stadium. In this regard the construction costs, running costs, financing costs, depreciation and the revenue potentials were calculated and put together in an overall profitability calculation. Beyond, the economic impact (detour profitability) of a new stadium for the whole city of Oldenburg was analysed. The feasibility study was completed end of May 2017 and handed over to the city council of Oldenburg and media representatives.
