National Urban Development Policy Civic Foundation Prize 2011
Civic engagement is becoming increasingly important in Germany: citizens develop new ideas for the future of their cities and communities and realise their plans in numerous non-profit projects serving the common benefit. In this context, the role of civic foundations as locally-oriented common institutions is growing as they provide additional structures for the community.
With the perspective to strengthen a culture of recognition in cities and communities and to demonstrate the scope of civic commitment, the Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Urban Development, the federal states, leading municipal associations and the Association of German Foundations initially awarded the National Urban Development Policy Civic Foundation Prize in 2011. The prize was awarded to 15 foundations.
In collaboration with the Kaufmann Office, PROPROJEKT was assigned with the conceptional framework, implementation and documentation of the Civic Foundation Prize.
