Senate of Hamburg adopts Masterplan Active City

On 22 November 2016 the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg adopted the Masterplan Active City which was compiled by PROPROJEKT and AS+P. At the following regional press conference Hamburg’s Sport Senator Andy Grote expressed his satisfaction, as the Masterplan further develops some of the projects that were planned to promote sport as part of the Hamburg Olympic Bid for 2024. The Active City strategy will form Hamburg’s political direction in sport for the years to come and will especially push the upgrading of the city’s sport venues. The Masterplan compiles 26 projects in the fields of sport in schools and clubs, sport in public areas, sport for all, young talent sport and elite sport. All these projects will be implemented by 2024. This will set strong impulses for both sport for all and elite sport in Hamburg.
