On 25 October 2025, the European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF) officially granted Frankfurt the hosting rights for the EuroGames. This will mark the fifth time that the EuroGames have been held in Germany and the first time they have returned to Frankfurt am Main since 1995.

This decision represents far more than just a sporting highlight for 2028; it is a powerful statement in support of diversity, tolerance, and equality. In collaboration with dedicated partners from sport, culture, politics, and civil society, an inclusive sporting event will be created that is open to all and will have a lasting social impact.

PROPROJEKT supported the Sports Department of the City of Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Volleyball Club (FVV) – one of Europe’s largest queer sports clubs – in developing the bid book and the final bid presentation.
