Olympic Winter Games Bid
After the German Olympic Sports Federation decided to submit a German bid for Munich to host the XXIII Olympic and XII Paralympic Winter Games in 2018, Munich entered the official IOC application process in 2009. As part of a consortium with AS+P and abold, PROPROJEKT has been entrusted with the planning, co-ordination and preparation of all the application and candidature documents required during the bid process. With the appointment of Munich as a Candidate City by the IOC in June 2010, the first milestone has been successfully accomplished, the second one with the submission of the 396-page Bid Book in January 2011.
"About two years of hard work and the expertise of our shareholders and their staff in the expert commissions as well as the know-how of our National Suppliers, especially of our planning team of AS+P and PROPROJEKT, is included in the 400 pages. For this excellent cooperation and the commitment I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone." Quote: Bernhard Schwank, CEO of the Munich 2018 Bid Committee.
Despite the smoothly run IOC Evaluation Commission visit and best marks for our Games plan, Munich was just medalled silver. In July 2011 the southkorean competitor PyeongChang was awarded the right to host the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
