Olympic Games Bid
In January 2001, the City of Leipzig decided to apply to become a Candidate City to host the XXX Olympic Games in 2012. PROPROJEKT and AS+P were commissioned with the technical and economic feasibility study.
In the subsequent national application phase that ran thru’ mid-2003, PROPROJEKT acted as consultant to Leipzig on the content of the programmes and the strategies, while at the same time co-ordinating major parts of the master planning. This included, among other things, internet-based editing of Leipzig’s bid books, process management for the evaluation by the National Olympic Committee (NOC), and formulation and updating of the financing concept in collaboration with the German Federal and State governments.
After Leipzig’s bid was accepted by the NOC in 2003, PROPROJEKT managed the preparation of the international application documents and played a strong part in compiling the answers for the IOC questionnaire.
