Feasibility analysis for Terminal G at Frankfurt Airport

Project Description

Fraport AG constantly plans to provide competitive infrastructure with improved and simplified passenger processes at the Frankfurt Airport. A study is supposed to analyse whether the feasibility for planning and construction are given at the proposed expansion of gate section G at the new Terminal 3. Beyond, the respective tenders for the required planning and construction services have to be prepared.

PROPROJEKT was commissioned with the realisation of the feasibility study as well as the preparation of the tendering of the planning and construction services. The basis of the study was a broad requirement management approach, which included the detailed analysis of processes of the airport operations as well as the minimum requirements for construction from 20 individual departments of Fraport AG. Besides the general planning services, especially consulting and management services for the project organisation, management and the overarching cost and time management were to be delivered. The interface management with the ongoing construction of the first part of Terminal 3 posed a special challenge in this project. Additionally, PROPROJEKT consulted and supported Fraport in the preparation of the documents and processes needed for the Europe-wide tendering for the required planning and construction services.

Based on the results of the feasibility study, the board of Fraport has decided to further pursue the expansion of gate section G and to begin the required planning and construction tendering.
